I’ve been using my Thoth Tarot cards – the Aleister Crowley Deck – since October 2014 on a weekly basis. I love them and they have become part of my favourite ritual of the week.
My ritual… Every week on a Sunday morning, I expand the time I have for my meditation practice. On a daily basis, I usually manage at least 30 minutes in the morning and on a Sunday, I try for an hour. I meditate, I review and reflect on my week and I draw tarot cards for the coming week. I usually do three cards – one for the start of the week, one for mid-week and one for the end of the week. Sometimes as I shuffle, a card jumps out and I use that as a single message for the whole week.
During my review time, I look at the cards I had chosen for the previous week and see if I can find any patterns or if any of the cards relate to what actually happened during the week.
My week is often mirrored in the cards I had chosen…
I do not look back at the tarot reading during the current week. I use a separate book for the weekly readings and reflection and so am not focused on the reading during the week. This adds magic as I go back to the reading and see what has unfolded and how this relates to the reading. It is also fun to look back over the weeks and months which have passed and see particular cards which keep coming up and what this could mean.
My process… The reading for the week: As I shuffle the cards, I bring myself to my soul-centre and connect with my spirit guides. I connect to the world, the universe and return back to my soul-self. I allow the feeling of ONENESS to deeply sink into me. I choose 3 cards – start, middle and end of the week.
Even though I am choosing the cards and picking them for myself, I am also choosing them for you.
I have a deep belief in oneness and that we are all inter-connected in this amazing world. This means that what comes up for me is most likely coming up for you. I see this magical synchronicity all the time at my weekly meditation classes. I also notice this with people I do not see that often and also with the online world. This has led me to the belief that the cards I draw can also be beneficial for you in some way.
I often post my weekly tarot card readings on instagram – my handle is @letterstomysoul – but sometimes Sunday breakfast gets in the way 😉
Over to you… Do you have a ritual which you love – your favourite of the week? Or do you have a tarot or oracle card ritual? I would love to know, so please do share.
Or share mine… If you don’t have a clear ritual yet and you would like to start one, here are some simple steps:
- Choose a day of the week which is good for you to do a review and draw cards.
- Meditate, reflect on your week and pick 3 tarot or oracle cards.
- Put your book and cards away and share your readings and realisations with me (if you’d like), please tag @letterstomysoul so I can see them.
Above all, please do have FUN with this. Remember that all messages are good and needed and there is no such thing as a negative message, only learning and challenges designed for us to grow. I am excited to see what unfolds for you in the next few weeks and months as you deepen your ritual.
Love, Bindi x
